Deutsch votes against $87 billion Iraq supplemental

U.S. Rep. Peter Deutsch today announced that he is voting against the Bush administration's request for $87 billion in supplemental reconstruction aid for Iraq.

"First and foremost, I support our troops," said Deutsch. "Without question, I would've voted for the military aid if it were proposed as a seperate funding request," he added. "The Bush Administration needs to develop a comprehensive plan for post-war Iraq - they are dead wrong in their approach," Deutsch continued. "I'm voting against this proposal because it is a blank check to the Bush administration's failed efforts to rebuild Iraq."
